Xiaomi Pad 8 Series Could Launch Globally Alongside the Xiaomi 17

The Xiaomi 17 series is expected to debut at the upcoming MWC 2026 event in Barcelona, Spain. The company may limit the Pro models to China, and launch only the vanilla Xiaomi 17 and the Xiaomi 17 Ultra in global regions. It appears the flagships won’t be the only ones debuting. A tipster on X says Xiaomi will also launch the Pad 8 series tablets globally with the Xiaomi 17 lineup.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 series will launch globally with the Xiaomi 17 lineup

Tipster Sudhanshu Ambhore on X claims that the Xiaomi Pad 8 series will see a global launch with the Xiaomi 17 series. Though there’s no exact date for that yet. Interestingly, the tablets were announced alongside the phones (Xiaomi 17) even in China back in September. The lineup includes two models, the Xiaomi Pad 8 and Pad 8 Pro. These are premium models with Snapdragon 8 series chips.

Additionally, Sudhanshu has also spotted the Energy ratings of the tablets and revealed some key specs, like color options and storage. The Xiaomi Pad 8 series tablets will arrive in blue, green, and gray color choices. The Xiaomi Pad 8 will be available in two configurations: 8GB + 128GB and 8GB + 256GB. Meanwhile, the Pad 8 Pro could come in 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB options. The Energy Rating images show there’ll be an IP54 rating for splash resistance.

Same specs as the Chinese variants

Besides these, the tipster says the rest of the specs, including battery, will remain the same as the Chinese variants. If this stands true, the vanilla Xiaomi Pad 8 will feature the Snapdragon 8s Gen 4, while the Pad 8 Pro will ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite. Both tablets will sport an 11.2-inch 3.2K display with a 144Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, and HDR10. They could run on Android 16-based HyperOS 3 with a bunch of AI features.

The Xiaomi Pad 8 houses a (at least the China version) a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front shooter. The Pro model features a 50MP main camera and a 32MP front shooter for selfies. The tablets pack a 9,200mAh battery, but the vanilla model offers 45W fast charging, while the Pro gets slightly faster 67W charging. We should know about the global variants at the MWC 2026.
