It seems like a price hike affected sales of OnePlus’ new compact flagship. According to a report from Korea, realyed by the OnePlus Club, OnePlus has sold less OnePlus 15T units compared to the OnePlus 13T in the same time frame. So the initial sales are not as high.
OnePlus Club does note that people will quickly realize that the pricing of this phone is actually quite reasonable, in the grand scheme of things. Prices are going to increase quite a bit in the coming months.
So, there’s actually a chance that the OnePlus 15T sales will pick up moving forward. As a reminder, this phone was announced on March 25, and it launched in China only, at least for now. We’re not expecting to see it in the US or Europe. It may land in India, but only there, based on reports.
The OnePlus 15T did get a considerable price jump, and it’s hurting its sales
As a reminder, the pricing for the OnePlus 15T starts at CNY4,299 ($625), while its most expensive variant is priced at CNY5,699 ($828). This does look as an excellent price tag for what the phone offers, but China has different pricing than the rest of the world. Phones made there are usually notably more affordable.
As a reminder, the OnePlus 13T’s pricing started at CNY3,399 ($446) last year. So, yes, this is quite a notable price hike, then again, the OnePlus 13T was unbeliavably affordable, so… there you go.
It is worth noting that the OnePlus 15T is a flagship-level phone. This is the most powerful compact smartphone that OnePlus has to offer, and it’s powered by the same chip that fuels the OnePlus 15, the company’s actual flagship. It’s the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
This phone does not skimp out in any way, basically. It has one of the most powerful chips out there, a great screen, plenty of RAM, excellent battery capacity, fast charging, and so on.
This phone has a lot to offer, though, and the price doesn’t seem to be exaggerated
The phone has a 6.32-inch AMOLED display with a 2640 x 1216 resolution, and it’s a 165Hz display. That panel gets immensely bright. The phone comes with either 12GB or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 flash storage.
A huge 7,500mAh battery is used by the company, while the device supports 100W wired charging. 50W wireless charging is also on offer, and the same goes for 10W reverse wired charging.
The phone also has two compelling 50-megapixel cameras, and a lot more. You can read more about what it offers here.
