Samsung’s bringing its foldables to the Big Apple on July 9

It’s official, Samsung Unpacked is scheduled for July 9, 2025 where the company will introduce us to their seventh-generation foldable devices. These include the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. We also expect to see the Galaxy Watch 8, Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, and Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025), and possibly a surprise or two.

Samsung is finally returning to New York City for Unpacked, for the first time since 2019. This will also be the first time that Samsung has held its Unpacked event for foldables in the US, surprisingly. Their first Unpacked back in person was in 2023, which was held in their homeland of Korea, and last year it was in Paris due to the Olympics and Samsung being a big sponsor of the Olympics.

It’s good to have Samsung Unpacked back in New York City, where it belongs.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is expected to get a pretty impressive upgrade this year, making it far thinner, a wider front display and sticking with the same size battery. Rumors are pointing toward the Galaxy Z Fold 7 measuring in at 3.9mm when unfolded and 8.8mm when folded. Additionally, it also gets a wider display, making it similar to the Galaxy S25 Plus’ display, which is a huge upgrade, and something users have been wanting for years.

Samsung has also kicked off Galaxy Reserve. So now, through July 9 when Unpacked kicks off, you can “reserve” your pre-order. Simply head to this page and enter your name and email. There’s no purchase necessary, but by doing this, you’ll get an additional $50 off your pre-order, and also get 3X Samsung reward points on your pre-order. Additionally, Samsung is also going to enter you into a sweepstakes where you could win $5,000 in Samsung Credit.

Unpacked will kick off at 10AM ET on July 9

Things get started pretty early this time around, with TM Roh hitting the stage at 10AM ET on July 9. We expect the announcement to last about an hour. Samsung’s Unpacked events typically last between an hour and five minutes to an hour and 15 minutes.

While we mostly know what to expect from this event, there is a chance that Samsung could have a surprise or two up its sleeve. Some are expecting its Android XR headset – Project Moohan – to be officially announced at this event. However, I believe this will launch later in the year. Like, in September with the “FE” devices.

We will be live at Unpacked in New York City in about two weeks time to bring you the latest and greatest from Samsung’s latest launch event. We’re expecting lots of products, with at least five confirmed devices, possibly even more.
