Since the beginning of this month, Samsung has been quite busy updating the security of its Android phones like the flagship Galaxy S and Galaxy Z series devices. The company already released the April 2026 security update for multiple phones in these series. After the flagship products, Samsung is now focusing on releasing the April 2026 Android security update to its affordable phones, like the Galaxy A54. The A series offering is getting the latest Android security patch now.

Samsung is rolling out the new update to the Galaxy A54 in its home market

Samsung is upgrading the security of the Galaxy A54 with the April 2026 update in its home market of South Korea. The latest update changes the firmware number to version A546SKSSGEZC2. After Korea, Samsung will soon roll out the new Android security patch to the Galaxy A54 units across the globe.

The company has released the latest firmware for the Galaxy A54 gradually over the air. Given the load on update servers, the new security patch could take some time to reach all Galaxy A54 units. You can manually check if the update is available in your country by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install.

The new update fixes several security vulnerabilities

According to the official changelog, the Galaxy A54’s April 2026 update fixes up to 47 security vulnerabilities. Google has fixed 33 of these security issues. 10 of the fixes are from Samsung Mobile, and four are from Samsung Semiconductor. Among the 33 fixes Google provided, it has marked 14 as critical, 18 as high-severity, and one as moderate security.

Samsung Mobile has marked three of the 10 vulnerabilities as high severity and five as moderate. The company has not detailed the severity of the remaining two bugs. Samsung Semiconductor has marked four of its bugs as high severity.

Apart from the Galaxy A54, Samsung will release the April 2026 security patch to a handful of other Galaxy A and M series budget and mid-range devices later this month. Samsung also recently launched the Galaxy A37 and Galaxy A57 this week on April 9.
