Samsung’s One UI 8 Beta Tipped to Drop This Month

Samsung’s One UI 8 Beta Tipped to Drop This Month

Samsung had a rocky start with the Android 15-based One UI 7, but it’s finally reaching all major Galaxy phones and tablets. Samsung doesn’t want any road bumps with its upcoming One UI 8 update, and it has ready the first Android 16-based One UI 8 beta update. According to a SamMobile report, Samsung will deliver the first beta version of the One UI 8 update later this month.

Some Samsung Galaxy devices could get One UI 8 beta very soon

According to the report, Samsung will release the One UI 8 beta update, based on Android 16, in the third week of May. It’s worth adding that this beta program may not be as widely available as the previous programs. Initially, only a few Samsung devices will receive the update, and that’s only in select markets. However, the company will reportedly release the One UI 8 beta update to a wider audience by some time in June.

There’s a possibility that Samsung’s latest Galaxy S25 series of flagship phones will get the new update first in South Korea. As for the wider rollout, it could first begin in Europe and the US after some time.

It’s worth mentioning that many expected Samsung to release Android 16 with a beta update following the launch of the Galaxy Z Fold 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7. This meant that the One UI 8 release could happen sometime around July, giving the brand ample time to avoid the issues with the One UI 7 rollout. But, it appears that everything is going well inside Samsung’s software camp for the rollout of the One UI 8 beta update.

What features can you expect from the One UI 8 beta update?

Some improvements present in the One UI 8 beta update have already slipped through the cracks. Sources suggest that the update will introduce features like AI Video Summary, an advanced version of DeX, and the potential for Samsung to provide more VRAM on its devices. The firmware will also bring an updated app drawer, which shows all installed applications in a smaller pop-up window.

Some of the other changes could bring the Buds 3 and Buds 3 Pro’s enhanced quick panel controls to older earbuds. Furthermore, the OTA will have refined and enhanced general UI elements. That said, the One UI 8 version is going to refine a lot of features on eligible Samsung devices.
