It’s been a tough start to 2026 for OnePlus. On top of all of the rumors about the company shutting down in most markets, there was also a warrant for the arrest of its CEO Pete Lau. And now, it looks like a number of employees at OnePlus Europe are looking for new employment.
A senior OnePlus employee in its European division has said that “based on a comprehensive assessment of the European market environment, business performance, and resource allocation, OnePlus Europe is currently reviewing its regional roadmap and product strategy.” They went on to say that “for a lot of us at the team, that means that we will be looking for new employment. Me included.”
This seems like the next step for OnePlus in pulling out of some of its other markets, not named India and China.
Now, this does not mean we will see any drastic changes in Europe for OnePlus, but it could mean that future OnePlus products may not come to Europe. Keep in mind that, unlike the US, OPPO is available in most of Europe, in most of the same countries. So it wouldn’t be a total loss.

OnePlus India CEO already left last month
Last month, OnePlus India’s CEO had reportedly left the company and returned to China. This came just a couple of months after denying the initial report that OnePlus would be scaling back.
OnePlus isn’t pulling out of India entirely, as they are preparing to launch a few new products in India, including the Nord 6 and the Pad 3 Pro. But this definitely shows that the strategy has changed for OnePlus in India. OnePlus is reportedly going to focus on the low-end in India, with the high-end devices pretty much remaining in China, unfortunately.
Nothing is confirmed by OnePlus as of now, especially since that LinkedIn post has since been deleted. But it’s not looking good.
