Senate Agriculture Committee Releases Farm Bill Proposal

(Washington D.C.–June 24, 2026)–Senate Agriculture Committee Chairman John Boozman (R-Ark.) this week released text for a Senate companion bill to the Farm, Food, and National Security Act of 2026 (H.R. 7567), passed by the House of Representatives earlier this year. The National Audubon Society issued the following statement from Nathaniel Miller, Senior Director, Wings Over Working Lands:

“Chairman Boozman’s release of Senate Farm Bill legislation is an important step toward reauthorizing one of the nation’s most significant investments in conservation on privately-owned working lands. We thank Sen. Boozman for his leadership and the work of Committee staff in preparing a discussion draft, and we are encouraged to see momentum in the Senate. We appreciate the Committee’s continued recognition that supporting voluntary conservation is essential for farmers, producers, and foresters to have the tools necessary to deliver benefits on the landscape. Audubon looks forward to reviewing the legislation and working with lawmakers on both sides of the aisle to ensure the Farm Bill with a robust conservation title moves to the President’s desk this Congress.”
