Apple is set to raise iPhone prices next month, when the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Ultra are announced. This is according to Bloomberg, who doesn’t yet know how much of a price increase we’re going to see, but it’s coming.

Apple had already raised prices on virtually every other product that they sell, averaging around 23%. But iPhones are much more sensitive than iPad and Mac to price increases, since they are tied to upgrades through carriers.

Most industry insiders are expecting prices to go up by around $100 on each model this Fall. But there have been some throwing out numbers as high as $300 more. Currently, the iPhone 17 Pro starts at $1,099, and iPhone 17 Pro Max at $1,199, so a $100 price increase would put them in line with Samsung and Google’s flagship phones, here in the US. A $300 price increase would make them substantially more expensive, bordering on foldable pricing.

Apple’s price increase likely won’t be felt by most Americans

While Apple’s largest market is the US, its the US that is less likely to feel this price increase. Why? The carriers. Most people buy their phones on carriers, through 2, 3, and now 4 year installment plans. An extra $100 over a four-year term is only $2 more per month. That’s not a huge price increase, and most will likely pay it without much of a complaint.

Don’t forget that Apple also has its leasing program now, making it easier to lease your phone for one or two years and save some money too.

Apple is slated to announce the iPhone 18 Pro series in just a few weeks. Typically, it’s the second or third week of September, which means that we should be getting an event invite in the coming days.
