Apple has just announced that the iPhone 18 event will take place on September 9.
The company is beginning to send out invites to the September 9th event in Cupertino, where we will likely see the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. We are also expecting to see the new iPhone Ultra. The base model iPhone 18 is expected to skip this event, as is the iPhone Air 2, with those two launching in the Spring alongside the iPhone 18e.
The event will kick off at 10AM PT as usual and will take place right after IFA in Berlin.

The tagline for this event is “Surprise and shine,” which could hint at the iPhone Ultra as a “surprise,” even though it’s been the most talked-about iPhone in this rumor cycle. Perhaps we will see a “one more thing” that we didn’t expect at this event? We’ll have to wait and see.
Based on the event date, we can assume that pre-orders will start on September 11 (a bit surprising, since Apple has typically avoided that date), with devices shipping on September 18. The iPhone Ultra is very likely to ship later, as most new iPhone models do.
What else could Apple announce at this event?
Typically, the September iPhone event is reserved for the iPhone and Apple Watch only, though we do sometimes get a new pair of AirPods announced. We are expecting to see the Apple Watch Series 12 and the Apple Watch Ultra 3 unveiled here, however.
There could be some other surprises, like a new pair of AirPods, but not the rumored ones with cameras inside. Those are slated for next year.
It would be very surprising to see new iPads or MacBooks at this event; those are usually separate events in October and/or November.
