Chase and Instacart recently launched a partnership that offers monthly Instacart credits and 3 complimentary months of Instacart+ membership for cardholders of a number of Chase credit cards. Instacart users (and potential future Instacart users) should find the new perks to be very beneficial – with the ability to stack these credits with gift cards & other Instacart promos. The new monthly Instacart credits are either $10 or $20 (list of Chase cards below) and last all the way through December 31, 2027.
You have to manually enroll each card separately for them to be eligible for the credits, but once you do, you can potentially get multiple credits (on multiple orders) each month.
I’ve been on an Instacart kick for the last year or so, having purchased a number of discounted Instacart gift cards from Costco (which led to an investigative article on Costco warehouse vs Costco Instacart vs Costco Same Day prices) and Sam’s Club for 20% off and after finding other ways to save on Instacart orders. Those discounted gift card promos have sadly expired, but I have been able to find discounted Instacart gift cards through my Upromise Mastercard, a Best Buy promo, Amazon, and elsewhere – so they are not hard to come by. 15 or 20% Instacart gift card discounts are typical.
This Chase and Instacart collab has the potential to be a huge win for Instacart users who have Chase credit cards. Let’s start with card eligibility and enrollment links and then I’ll cover some tips that I have learned from personally enrolling eligible cards and using them to receive credits.
Here’s all of the Chase Credit Cards Eligible for Instacart Credits
3 Chase Ink Business cards are eligible for $20/month in Instacart credits and a number of Chase co-branded credit cards are eligible for $10/month in Instacart credits. Chase United Airlines credit cards also became recently eligible for Instacart credits and have slightly different rules attached. Tested: Chase Instacart Credit Stacking & Membership Tips
Having registered 5 cards (2 different Ink, 2 different IHG, and 1 Marriott) on my Instacart account, plus 3 cards on Mrs. 20SF’s Instacart account (1 Ink, 2 different IHG), I’ve already tested and learned a few ways to stack and get the most out of these credits and the complimentary Instacart+ membership:
- The 3 months of complimentary membership per card all stack (e.g. I was able to get 15 months of complimentary Instacart+ membership on the 5 cards that I enrolled).
- If you already have Instacart+ membership (as I did), the complimentary membership perk is added to the end of your current membership period, which is nice.
- I’ve already been able to redeem 2 Ink credits on 2 separate orders for $40 in total credits in the same month, so it appears that you can get a monthly credit for each individual Ink card that you enroll.
- I have not been able to get more than 1 monthly credit for additional c0-branded card (i.e. $10 monthly total combined for all co-branded cards enrolled), sadly. So, it seems there is currently a cap of 1 credit per month on the co-branded cards.
- The credits show in your Instacart shopping cart at checkout when you choose an enrolled card as payment. This is not a “Chase offers” promotion, where a redeemed offer credit shows on your credit card statement.
- If you have multiple of the exact same card (e.g. 2 “Ink Business Unlimited” cards), it does not appear that you will get credits or complimentary membership for each – just 1 of the 2.
- It does not seem like there is a way to stack multiple credits on 1 order (you choose 1 card to use for payment on an order).
- It appears that your order can include Instacart cash balance and you can still get a credit even if your card is not used (but chosen as a payment method). This is where the discounted Instacart gift cards can come into play.
- Importantly, these Chase credits seem to stack with other Instacart offer promos.
- Set a reminder in your calendar for your new end of Instacart+ membership date so that you can avoid getting charged for renewal.
The fact that you can get multiple credits for multiple cards, stack them with other promos and gift cards, and that they last all the way through the end of 2027 is a pretty massive benefit. In the case of our household, that has the potential to equate to 32 months of $80 in monthly credits for a total of $2,560 in credits for our eligible Chase cards! Stacked on top of other Instacart offers and discounted Instacart gift cards, this is a huge perk for Chase cardholders.
