WATERTOWN, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – Lake Area Technical College is getting a new learning space for healthcare.
According to reporting from Mike Tanner at Watertown Radio, LATC will be building a new surgical technology classroom space on campus.
The addition comes after a gift from Sanford Health of half a million dollars.
“Many of our corporate partners’ hopes and dreams are that partnering with us builds their own pipeline for their workforce in the future. We’re happy to play a role in that and introduce our students to great employers, where those students can build their future careers. So, Sanford’s investment in our program allows them to get to know our students and to form those relationships early. As students go out on internship and clinical experiences, they see what a Sanford operational day looks like,” said LATC President Tiffany Sanderson.
The gift will be dispersed over five years.
Construction has already begun and will be finished by the fall.
