The Mahindra Group and Embraer have identified Nagpur as the preferred location for a potential final assembly line for the C-390 Millennium military transport aircraft, subject to the aircraft being selected for the Indian Air Force’s Medium Transport Aircraft programme.
The proposed facility would support local manufacturing, assembly, supply chain development and MRO activities under the Make in India initiative.
The companies are working with the Maharashtra government to create the required infrastructure and deepen India’s aerospace manufacturing capabilities.
