One UI 8.5 Second Beta Brings Back Missing Samsung Camera Features

Samsung released the second beta of One UI 8.5 to the Galaxy S25 series, and this brings back the missing Dual Rec and Single Take camera features. To jog your memory, the first One UI 8.5 beta, which dropped earlier this month, introduced plenty of new features. But it removed the said camera modes, disappointing those who use them. While they are back now, Samsung is apparently making it harder to access them than before.

The missing Camera features are now back with the second One UI 8.5 beta build

SamMobile reports that these camera features are accessible in the second beta of Samsung’s One UI 8.5 via the latest version of the Camera Assistant app. Before One UI 8.5, the Single Take and Dual Rec were present in the Galaxy phones’ stock camera app in the Modes section. But things have now changed.

The Camera Assistant app update (v4.5.00.13) is now reportedly available. It now has an “Additional modes” section where you can enable them to show up in the Modes selector. Again, this is only for phones running the second One UI 8.5 beta build.

But Samsung is making it harder to access them now

The Single Take feature automatically captures photos and videos as you pan your camera around a scene, creating multiple still images and video clips in various styles. Meanwhile, Dual Rec records videos from two of your phone’s cameras at the same time.

While the Single Take and Dual Rec modes are neat camera features, they are specialized modes. This is possibly why Samsung wants to hide from the default camera experience. One UI 8.5 is based on Android 16 QPR2, and the beta program is currently live for the Galaxy S25. It might expand to more devices soon. We’ll be sure to update when that happens.
