Samsung’s One UI 8.5 beta program is now live for the Galaxy S25 series, giving a taste of the new version before the stable release. This iteration will bring visual changes, new Galaxy AI features, and other enhancements. Among the many changes, One UI 8.5 will reportedly bring a redesigned YouTube card in Now Brief.
One UI 8.5 may introduce a new Now Brief YouTube card
Now Brief offers an at-a-glance summary of your day, including weather, calendar, news, health, and even AI-generated content. One such integration is YouTube. The YouTube card in Now Brief displays videos as a list, vertically. As a result of this, it could only show two videos.
With the One UI 8.5, the recommendations will reportedly surface in a carousel horizontally that you can swipe through. This change means there are now up to ten video recommendations, as well as a larger thumbnail image for each video. This could be quite meaningful considering how One UI 8.5 is believed to surface relevant YouTube video recommendations.

More video recommendations
If you’re not seeing YouTube videos in your Now Brief feed, you may have to enable them. You can do this by opening Now Brief settings, tapping Content to include, and selecting YouTube. The One UI 8.5 beta program is currently live only for the Galaxy S25 series. However, Samsung may soon expand it to the Galaxy Z lineup of phones and possibly even the older Galaxy S series devices like the Galaxy S24. The new version is based on the latest Android 16 QPR2 release.
One UI 8.5 stable will debut with the Galaxy S26 series early next year and will eventually roll out to all eligible models, including flagships, mid-range, and entry-level options.
