    BOOX Launches Pocket-Sized E-Ink Device

Smartphones and tablets usually make the headlines because these are incredibly powerful devices. They’re essentially tiny computers sitting in our bags and pockets. But if you’re looking for a device that looks more natural, has better battery life, and is comfortable on the eyes, e-ink devices is where it’s at. More recently, BOOX has unveiled a bunch of new e-ink devices that could be worth checking out. This includes the BOOX Note Air6 C, the Mini C, and the Palma 3.

    BOOX Note Air6

The BOOX Note Air6 C is the biggest of the lineup. It targets people who want to read and write on the same device. It comes with a 10.3-inch Kaleido 3 color screen that BOOX says refreshes faster than its predecessor. Under the hood, you’ll find a new octa-core processor paired with 6GB of RAM. There is also BOOX’s own Super Refresh tech to keep pages turning smoothly. You also get Bluetooth 6.0, which should mean quicker pairing with a keyboard or stylus.

One cool addition is Dual Note, letting you open two notes at once and work side by side. The tablet also has pogo pins on the back, so the optional keyboard cover snaps right on without any extra cables. The Note Air6 C is available to order now for $579.99.

    Mini C

Next up we have the BOOX Mini C. If the Note Air6 C is bigger than you need, the Mini C could be a smaller alternative. It shrinks the screen to 8.52 inches while keeping the same color ePaper panel. So you still get color charts and documents, just in a size that’s easier to hold with one hand. It packs 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage, and there’s a microSD slot if you need to add up to 2TB more. BOOX also paired it with a new magnetic stylus, so note-taking stays part of the experience even in this smaller shell. There’s no word on availability yet. BOOX says it will be available soon, but it will be priced at $579.99 when it does.

    Palma 3

Last but not least, there’s the Palma 3, and it’s going in a completely different direction. Instead of chasing bigger screens, BOOX leaned into something smaller and way more pocketable. Think of it like a smartphone with a monochrome display instead of color, with deeper blacks and sharper contrast for a more paper-like read.

It runs Android 16 right out of the box, so you get full access to the Play Store without any workarounds. Storage sits at 128GB with a microSD slot for more room, and it works with BOOX’s InkSense Plus stylus if you want to jot things down. Will it replace your phone? We don’t think so, but if you want an e-reader that easily slips into your pocket, this might be it. Similar to the Mini C, the Palma 3 isn’t out yet. However, it’ll be priced at $339.99 once it launches.
