Samsung has officially announced the Galaxy Z Fold 7, along with a few other devices at its July Unpacked event in Brooklyn. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is available for pre-order starting on July 9, and the Galaxy Z Fold 7 release date is set for July 25.

This is actually a bit longer than usual for pre-orders to start shipping. Samsung typically starts shipping out pre-orders a little over a week after the announcement. But this time around, it’s about 16 days, a little over two weeks.

The thinnest Galaxy Z Fold ever

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is probably the biggest update ever, for the Galaxy Z Fold lineup. It’s a much thinner smartphone this year, measuring in at 4.2mm unfolded and 8.9mm when folded. That puts it at the same thickness as the OPPO Find N5, which was the world’s thinnest foldable until eh HONOR Magic V5 was announced in early July 2025. The Magic V5 is 4.1mm unfolded and 8.8mm when folded.

It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy, with 12GB of RAM and 256GB or 512GB of storage. You can also get 1TB of storage with upgraded RAM – 16GB. Samsung was able to keep the same battery capacity, 4,400mAh, though it is much higher density this time around. And finally, the cameras were also upgraded this year. Well, two of them were. The primary sensor is now a 200-megapixel sensor, with a 12-megapixel telephoto, and a 10-megapixel ultrawide. The under-display camera is now gone, and replaced with a 10-megapixel cut out camera. Up from the 4-megapixel on the previous models.

The Galaxy Z Fold 7 is available for purchase now. Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 price starts at $1,999, but of course there are plenty of deals available to get it for much less.
