Samsung Just Confirmed Its Privacy Display Feature Without Naming It

Samsung has just confirmed that “a new layer of privacy” is coming, and yes, it’s exactly what you think it is. The company basically confirmed the Privacy Display feature for the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra, without mentioning the device or the feature by name.

Samsung just officially confirmed its Privacy Display feature, though this is more of a teaser of sorts

This feature leaked out several times now, and the company officially confirmed it. The company said that Samsung will “soon unveil a new layer of privacy to shield your phone from shoulder surfing wherever you go.”

The company added that users will have the space to check messages or enter a password on public transit without thinking twice about who might be watching.

Samsung confirmed that you’ll be able to customize this feature, as it realizes that not everyone needs it, especially not all the time. The company confirmed that you’ll be able to customize it to guard specific apps, or for it to become active when you enter more private areas of your phone.

There will be multiple settings for adjusting visibility. You’ll be able to limit what others can see based on the level of privacy protection you need. Samsung said that you will also be able to protect specific parts of your experience, such as notification pop-ups, for example.

Samsung says it took over 5 years of engineering and testing for this to happen

The company says that it took over 5 years of engineering, testing, and refining in order to bring this feature to life. Samsung says that it studied how people use their phones and what they consider private, among other things.

This feature will be a fusion of hardware and software. At the end of its press release, the company said that the feature is “coming to Galaxy very soon.”

This is the rumored Privacy Display feature, obviously. That feature is expected to debut on the Galaxy S26 Ultra, and based on what we’ve seen, it won’t be available on the other two phones. It remains to be seen, though, it would be nice to see it on the entire Galaxy S26 series, that’s for sure. As a reminder, those phones are tipped to launch on February 25.

A recent leak showed us this feature in action, while some more information also surfaced, in case you’re interested. On top of that, the company released three teaser videos for that feature. You can check them out below. Ice Universe, a well-known tipster, also added some information about the feature, explaining how it works, and why the Galaxy S25 Ultra and older models can’t get it.
