Samsung has seen pretty incredible demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 since announcing it at Unpacked last week. Some colors have been out of stock, or ship dates have been pushed back pretty drastically.
Now, the Pistachio (Samsung.com’s exclusive color) is back in stock, but it won’t ship until August 21. That’s only two weeks later than the release date; some colors are delayed until November in some regions, so this isn’t too bad.
All three storage variants – 256GB, 512GB, and 1TB – are all using the same August 21 date. Samsung does typically overpromise on delivery dates, so it is very likely that it would arrive before August 21.
The Graphite and Cream colors are also showing the August 21 ship date, while the Lavender is still August 7. This means that either Lavender isn’t as popular as Samsung thought it would be, or they made many more units in Lavender (it is the hero color after all), and so it’s staying in stock better.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 demand is off the charts
Surprisingly (or perhaps unsurprisingly, depending on which side of the fence you’re on), the Galaxy Z Fold 8 has been extremely popular since Samsung announced it in London last week. While this is likely because the Galaxy Z Fold 8 does have a new form factor, versus the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra being the same form factor we’ve had for 7 years, it’s still great to see.
I’ve been using the Galaxy Z Fold 8 since Unpacked, and it’s still hard to put down. Even though I’m still in the honeymoon phase with this phone, it is definitely refreshing in the foldable world. Giving us something that can actually be used for watching media, without giant black bars around the content. Of course, the upcoming iPhone Ultra likely has something to do with it.
