Sky has added Disney+, HBO Max and Hayu to its Ultimate TV and Full Fibre broadband bundle, while dropping the monthly price to £39

It’s a significant month for Sky as the provider begins introducing its complimentary streaming subscriptions, which see the addition of HBO Max, Hayu, and Disney+ to selected packages. For those looking to reduce expenses and combine a TV package with broadband, one tariff is on sale.

Until 1st April, the Ultimate TV and 300Mbps Full Fibre broadband package typically costs £41 per month, but in what appears to be a discreet promotion, the price has fallen to £39 monthly. A choice for larger households, accommodating between 9 to 12 devices, it features rapid internet speeds, over 150 television channels and eliminates the requirement for a satellite dish – as it operates via Wi-Fi instead.

A highlight of the package has consistently been the provision of Discover+ and Netflix, as subscribers get a standard account with adverts alongside the TV and broadband bundle. Now, Sky has added Disney+, Hayu, and HBO Max into the offering.

Alongside the current 150 television channels, Netflix and a selection from Discovery+, the television element of the Ultimate Bundle has been enhanced with Disney+ as it’s being introduced across various Sky packages. Disney, Marvel, Pixar, Star Wars and National Geographic programmes can be watched at no additional charge.

Similar to Netflix, this represents the Disney+ Standard with Ads tier, meaning subscribers will need to tolerate approximately four advertisements per hour. As a standalone subscription, this would typically cost viewers £5.99 monthly when purchased directly through Disney+.

Sky’s Ultimate TV & 300Mbps broadband plan has dropped to £39 a month, saving consumers £48 across the total contract. Plus, it’s new Disney+ freebie saves consumers £5.99 a month, which is more than £143 saving across the full term.

Anyone who is switching from a rival provider can claim up to £300 in fees, to cover exit fees too.

That’s a total saving of £143.76 if looking at a Disney+ plan across the 24-month period, without mentioning the Sky TV and broadband discount dropping from £41 monthly to £39, giving an additional £48 in savings.

There are two key aspects to highlight regarding the package. As a team that regularly examines contracts, this is something subscribers should be aware of.

Firstly, the contract duration, as is typical with Sky TV and broadband, customers must commit to a 24-month agreement, or encounter an early termination charge should they decide to cancel prematurely.

Secondly, there are price increases, as Sky notes in fine print beneath the package. Throughout the 24-month contractual period, the cost may rise in accordance with inflation, which competitors Virgin Media, EE, and BT have been recognised for implementing as well.

Regarding Virgin Media, it’s competing with Sky’s switching promotion through its own £250 credit. Any customer who transfers from a competing provider will receive up to that sum to offset and apply towards a future package.

While Netflix is added, Disney+ has not been included for audiences. “This marks a new era for Sky and NOW. “Millions of existing customers will get easy access to this new line-up as standard at an unbeatable value. All NOW Entertainment customers will get access to HBO Max, included at no extra cost, fully integrated within the NOW app.”
