The Telangana government has inked MoUs with a number of pharma companies for a total investment of ₹9,500 crore in new projects.

The MoUs were announced at the Telangana Rising Gobal Summit in Bharat Future City here on Tuesday.

Vaccine-maker Biological E proposes to establish large-scale Vaccine, Research & Development and Contract Development and Manufacturing Organization (CDMO) facilities in Telangana as part of its next phase of expansion with a net new amount of ₹3,500 crore, in addition to its earlier investment of ₹500 crore, taking the total cumulative investment to ₹4,000 crore. It will create over 3,000 direct jobs in the state within the next five years. The company has requested 150 acres of land in Green Pharma City for the development of this project.

Hetero Group has proposed setting up large-scale pharmaceutical formulations facilities in Telangana at an investment of around ₹1,800 crore, enhancing the state’s manufacturing capabilities in high-quality formulations for the domestic and global markets. It has requested 100 acres of land; the new facility is expected to create more than 9,000 direct and indirect jobs over the next two years in the state.

Bharat Biotech is planning to establish a state-of-the-art Contract Research, Development, and Manufacturing Organization (CRDMO) facility in Telangana with ₹1,000 crore that can create more than 200 direct and indirect jobs over the next three to four years.

Aurobindo Pharma intends to expand and develop its capabilities in complex generics, injectables, oral solid formulations, bio-similars, and biologics in the state with ₹2,000 crore, with an employment potential of more than 3,000 direct and indirect jobs over the next two-three years.

Granules India has inked an MoU to establish advanced facilities for the manufacture of peptides, along with a ₹1,200-crore Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO) for oncology products in Telangana. It has requested 100 acres of land within Green Pharma City for the project, which is expected to generate more than 2,500-3,000 direct jobs over the next three-four years.
