The upcoming iPhone Ultra is apparently going to be the industry’s most repairable foldable. That’s quite surprising, considering the iPhone is typically one of the hardest to repair. Though that has changed recently, with Apple actually selling replacement parts and loaning out the tools to do the replacements.
However, according to the leaker “Instant Digital,” the iPhone Ultra will be one of the easiest-to-dismantle foldables on the market, thanks to its internal design. Making it the easiest to repair, for now. The leaker said that the device’s “incredibly rigorous underlying engineering logic” has “truly paid off”. And also predicted that teardown videos will vindicate the earlier claims, once the iPhone Ultra ships.
Apparently, it’ll have a “truly high level of modularity”, which is pretty common with a lot of Apple’s devices. If you’ve ever opened up an iPhone, iPad, or Mac, the modularity inside is pretty incredible.
The internal structure of the iPhone Ultra apparently has an innovative stacked design, with the space being almost entirely dedicated to the battery and display. This is what is allowing Apple to use the largest battery ever used in an iPhone, and one of the largest in a foldable, if rumors are true.
The iPhone Ultra is expected to launch this Fall
Apple is expected to announce the iPhone Ultra as its first book-style foldable in September, with it launching a bit later on. Pricing is rumored to be between $2,000 and $2,500. Though more recent rumors have pointed to the device costing on the low end of that range. Likely to compete with the other foldables on the market, like the Galaxy Z Fold 7 price of $1,999 or the Razr Fold 2026 price of $1,899.
This is likely going to be a huge moment for the foldable industry. As Apple is going to force everyone to make a foldable and actually compete. Even if you aren’t an Apple fan, this is a huge deal.
