The Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam-led Tamil Nadu Government has announced the portfolios and subjects allocated to ministers in the cabinet headed by Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay.
The actor-turned-politician and TVK President will head the home ministry. He will also oversee General Administration, Police, Special Programme Implementation, Women Welfare, Youth Welfare, Welfare of Children, Municipal Administration, and Urban and Water Supply.
Sengottaiyan gets Finance portfolio
Eleven-time Member of Legislative Assembly and former AIADMK stalwart KA Sengottaiyan has been given the Finance Ministry. The MLA from Gobichettipalayam has, in the past, as part of the AIADMK government under J Jayalalithaa, held various portfolios, including IT, agriculture, transport, and forests. In the Edappadi K. Palaniswami-led government, he was minister for education.
Keerthana becomes youngest minister in cabinet
S Keerthana, the youngest member of the cabinet and the sole female representative, has been appointed as the Industries Minister.
N Anand, considered among Vijay’s most significant leaders, has been given the Rural Development and Water Resources ministries, while Aadhav Arjuna, a prominent young face in the party, has been appointed as the Minister for Public Works and Sports Development.
Key ministries allocated to senior leaders
Other appointments include KG Arunraj as Minister for Health, Medical Education and Family Welfare. R Nirmalkumar is Minister for Energy Resources and Law. Rajmohan is Minister for School Education, Tamil Development, Information and Publicity.
A release from the TN public relations office said that Chief Minister C Joseph Vijay recommended the allocations to the state governor, who accepted them.
