Samsung is preparing to announce its new smartwatch next month, the Galaxy Watch 9. Which we are also expecting to come with the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 (technically Ultra 3, but last year was just a color-refresh, so it didn’t get the second-generation naming. After showing off the Galaxy Watch 9 earlier this week, we can now bring you a number of bands that will be available for the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2.
A couple of things to note here: the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 bands appear to have some “Ultra” branding on the tip, circled in orange. Both watches appear to have the same connectors as last year’s models, but they are still different. So Ultra bands won’t work on the Galaxy Watch 9.
First up, we have a sporty band here, which is going to be available for both the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2. It’s similar to the Marine band for the Galaxy Watch Ultra, but without the added thickness and ripples. It’s going to come in at least five colors for the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 and Galaxy Watch 9: Orange, Green, Black, light blue, and cream.
Next up, the Hybrid band is coming back. This was introduced last year as a way to have a leather-like band that is actually plastic and can be worn during workouts without getting all nasty. This one is also going to be available in a slew of colors. With beige, black, gray, and brown colors. The blue hybrid band currently available on the Galaxy Watch 8 doesn’t look like it’ll make it to the Galaxy Watch 9 series.
Samsung is definitely jumping on the pastel colors this year with these bands, giving us a light yellow, blue, green, and white color. These appear to only be available for the Galaxy Watch 9, judging by the connector on the ends, and the fact that there’s no “Ultra” branding on the tip.
Then we have the sport band, which is going to be the default option and available in a ton of different colors. The sport band does have a bit of a design change this year, with the center being concave a bit. It’s going to be available in yellow, blue, black, and green, and likely a few more colors too.
Samsung’s fabric band is also making a comeback this year, with very little changes here. There’s a separate version for the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2, with a more robust buckle on the end, like we’ve seen for the Galaxy Watch Ultra already.
Finally, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2’s Trail band is also back this year. This one is available in only a few colors this year, including orange, black, green, and blue.
These are likely only a fraction of the bands that will be available for the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 when they are announced next month at Unpacked. Samsung does typically release a ton of bands, giving users a lot of choices.
