Games on mobile don’t get much bigger than Resident Evil Survival Unit from Aniplex and JOYCITY, and it’s just teamed up with another huge name in the space – Monster Hunter – across most of July. July 2nd to the 29th, to be specific.
This new event sees two massive IPs teaming up in a title you can play wherever you go, and it’s adding a host of new modes and things to see and do. Let’s take a look at exactly what.
What’s happening?
In this first ever team up between the two games there’s a bunch of the iconic monsters from the Monster Hunter series to spot and hunt down.
These include the fearsome Rathalos, as well as the slightly less fearsome Yian Kut-Ku (it’s the large, fan-like ear frills).
You can also unlock Heroes that take inspiration from Monster Hunter, with these available to grab for free.
The famous Monster Hunter meat-grilling mechanic is implemented in the game for this event too. This involves you collecting meat from the monsters you defeat, which you then grill to gain rewards.
Rewarding experience
Then there are more cosmetic rewards, including skins for your in-game squads and base. These designs are heavily inspired by the indistinguishable stylings of the Monster Hunter franchise, and they’re very nice to look at indeed.
All these elements – both gameplay and cosmetic – will delight fans of both series, but bear in mind this team-up is exclusive to the Resident Evil Survival Unit mobile game. That is, rather than the entire Resident Evil franchise.
