Just 1 day after Costco launched on Uber Eats, they also launched nation-wide on DoorDash. To promote the launch, DoorDash is offering a 20% off discount promo code for Costco orders for a limited time. At the same time, Costco is also offering discounted DoorDash gift cards for 20% off on Costco.com. The great news is that you can stack the savings on both, and potentially even add on previously existing Chase credit card credits for DoorDash orders (and free DashPass) – more details on all of that below. Also, it’s worth noting that Costco deliveries are free if over $60 for DashPass members.
Costco, as a “membership warehouse club” has historically had pretty strong limitations around consumers being able to shop at Costco without a membership and on other platforms. I was surprised when they launched on Instacart a few years ago and even more surprised when they started offering credits on some Instacart orders. Costco still partners with Instacart for delivery, both on the Costco storefront on Instacart, and on sameday.costco.com. I previously ran a detailed Costco warehouse vs Costco Same-Day vs Costco on Instacart price comparison and have since run a Costco store versus Costco Instacart, Costco Same-Day, DoorDash, and Uber Eats price comparison. Costco shoppers should find both interesting.
Note: having an active Costco membership is required for Costco purchases on DoorDash. If you’re not an active member, Costco is currently offering new members bonus Digital Costco Shop Cards.
How to Get Discounted DoorDash Gift Cards at Costco.com
At the same time as these launches, Costco also began re-offering discounted DoorDash gift cards and discounted discounted Uber Eats gift cards on Costco.com – with pricing that is 20% off gift card value. They offered these gift card discounts in the past and in coordination with the launches they are now once again available.
How to Get 20% Off Costco Orders on DoorDash (for a Limited Time)
Additionally, you can use code COSTCO26 to get 20% off a Costco order on DoorDash, with a max discount of $50 (i.e. $250 order). There is a minimum subtotal of $100 for the promotion. The promo code is valid through 11/1/26.
Enter the promo code in the “Deals and Discounts” section of the DoorDash shopping cart checkout.
Don’t Forget About Chase DoorDash Credits & Free DashPass
Additionally, don’t forget that a number of Chase credits cards also offer DoorDash benefits as well (that also should stack with discounted gift cards and DoorDash promo codes):
- Chase Sapphire Reserve/J.P. Morgan Reserve: Free DashPass through 12/31/27, plus 2 $10 non-restaurant credits per month
- Chase Sapphire Preferred/Chase Ink Business Preferred: Free DashPass through 12/31/27, plus 1 $10 non-restaurant credit per month
- Chase Freedom/Chase Slate: Free DashPass for 6 months, plus 1 $10 non-restaurant credit per quarter
- Chase Co-Branded: Free DashPass for 12 months, plus 1 $10 non-restaurant credit per quarter
Is it Worth Shopping Costco on DoorDash?
Is it worth shopping Costco on DoorDash? It depends. If you’re planning on placing orders without the aforementioned discounted DoorDash gift cards and/or a DoorDash promo code, I’d say “no”. DoorDash, like all other delivery apps charge service/delivery fees and, of course, you should tip your delivery driver for their time and costs. To help with the calculation, I’d definitely recommend checking the price comparison article highlighted at the top.
At this moment, if you can stack BOTH discounted gift cards along with a promo code – it seems like a no-brainer. Unless you’re a crazy high tipper, you’re likely to come out ahead versus shopping in store – and you’ll save the time and hassle.
