Specialised Investment Funds (SIFs) continued their rapid expansion in June, with assets under management (AUM) rising 29.3 per cent month-on-month to ₹17,857.77 crore, driven by strong investor inflows into hybrid investment strategies.
The nascent category attracted net inflows of ₹3,782 crore during June, a 171 per cent jump from ₹1,396 crore in May, taking cumulative inflows since October 2025 to ₹17,407 crore.
According to ValueMetrics Mutual Fund & SIF Flow Meter, hybrid investment strategies remained the dominant segment, accounting for 72 per cent of total SIF assets at ₹12,822 crore.
Within this, Hybrid Long-Short Funds alone managed ₹11,910 crore, representing 67 per cent of the industry’s AUM, with an average folio size of ₹35 lakh. Equity-oriented investment strategies accounted for the remaining 28 per cent, with assets of ₹5,036 crore.
Monthly inflows
Hybrid Long-Short Funds also led monthly inflows, garnering ₹2,043 crore in June, up 189 per cent from ₹707 crore in May.
The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) introduced the SIFs framework in February 2025 to bridge the gap between regular mutual funds and high-ticket Portfolio Management Services (PMS).

Equity-oriented strategies received inflows of ₹1,097 crore during the month, a 68 per cent increase over May’s ₹652 crore. Cumulative inflows into these strategies have reached ₹4,938 crore, contributing 28 per cent of total SIF inflows.
The broader mutual fund industry also witnessed healthy investor participation in June. Total industry AUM rose to ₹82.2 lakh crore, while active equity funds recorded gross inflows of ₹67,601 crore, up from ₹57,604 crore in May. Net inflows into active equity funds stood at ₹28,973 crore.
Hybrid funds, excluding arbitrage schemes, received net inflows of ₹7,163 crore during the month compared with ₹4,862 crore in May, indicating sustained demand for asset allocation products.
